How to play Russian Solitaire

Make Russian Solitaire your next activity in the game library. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Check the rule that explains your first action. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

A useful comparison

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Step by step

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Check any mode label before starting.

A useful example

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
